Harry Kane’s Homecoming: Spurs Legend Honors Fans, Bayern Claims 3-2 Victory

Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading scorer, returned to his former club with Bayern Munich for a preseason friendly. Despite receiving a standing ovation from the fans, Kane chose not to lift the Visit Malta Cup, which Bayern won by beating Spurs 3-2. Kane, who joined Bayern last summer in a deal worth over €100 million, started the match on the bench and only played the final 10 minutes, during which he took the captain’s armband but passed it on before the trophy presentation.

Kane expressed his gratitude to the Spurs fans, saying the match was a chance to properly say goodbye after his rushed departure the previous year. At the end of the game, he took a solo lap of honor to thank the supporters. After the match, Kane and his Bayern teammate Eric Dier, who also spent time at Tottenham, received special trophies from the club. Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski scored twice, but Bayern’s goals from Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry, and Thomas Müller secured their victory.
