Maiden test win for Bangladesh against Pakistan

Bangladesh achieved a historic victory against Pakistan in their latest Test match, marking their first-ever win against Pakistan in Test cricket and their third away win in seven years. The game concluded with a ten-wicket victory for Bangladesh on the fifth day, following a solid all-around performance. Mushfiqur Rahim’s impressive score of 191 runs boosted Bangladesh’s confidence. On the final day, Bangladesh’s bowlers took center stage. Fast bowlers initially made inroads, with Nahid Rana’s quick pace dismissing Babar Azam for 22, while Hasan Mahmud and others removed key top-order batsmen.

Spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz then dominated, claiming seven wickets between them. Shakib’s accurate lines and Mehidy’s effective off-breaks exploited the turning pitch to trouble Pakistan’s batsmen. Pakistan, led by Mohammad Rizwan’s fighting 51, managed to set Bangladesh a modest target of 30 runs after being bowled out for 146. Despite some resistance from Rizwan and lower-order efforts, Pakistan’s batting faltered against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack.

Bangladesh chased down the target comfortably in 6.3 overs without losing a wicket, with Zakir Hasan hitting the winning runs. This win ended Pakistan’s nine-Test winless streak at home and highlighted Bangladesh’s growing strength in international cricket.
