Lando Norris claimed a remarkable victory at the Dutch Grand Prix, defeating home favorite Max Verstappen in front of his passionate “Orange Army” fans at Zandvoort. This win marked Norris’s second career win, following his first in Miami in May. The British driver closed Verstappen’s lead in the world championship to 70 points. Despite Verstappen’s strong start and an early lead, Norris’s upgraded McLaren showed superior pace, allowing him to catch up and eventually overtake the Dutchman on lap 18. Verstappen struggled with grip issues and could not match Norris’s speed throughout the race. After a pit stop, Norris maintained his lead and secured the fastest lap of the race, extending his advantage to over 10 seconds by lap 40. He finished with a comfortable 22.896-second margin over Verstappen. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took third place, narrowly beating Norris’s teammate Oscar Piastri. With this result, the gap in the constructors’ championship between Red Bull and McLaren narrowed to 30 points. The F1 season now heads to Monza, Italy, with Verstappen aiming to end his winless streak that dates back to June in Barcelona.
