Deepika Kumari Advances to Quarterfinals in Archery at Paris Olympics, Sets Up Clash with Germany’s Michelle Kroppen

Indian Archery Deepika Kumari has been on a winning streak as she beat Estonia’s Reena Parnat 6-5 (on points basis), eliminating Reena in the round of 32. Deepika scored a perfect 30 in the last and deciding round.
Deepika Kumari advanced into the quarter finals after beating Netherlands’ Quinty Roeffen in the round of 16. Deepika won the first round by shooting two perfect 10s and a 9. Quinty who is only 18 years old retaliated in the second round by shooting two perfect 10s and a 9. In addition to this Deepika managed to shoot three 9s consequently giving away the second round to Quinty. Young Quinty made some gruesome mistakes in the following rounds where she totally missed the target scoring zero in one out of three shots. On the other hand Deepika also lost some points in the third round but it wasn’t going to do any good to Quinty. In the best of five Deepika Kumari won three rounds scoring 6 points.
Deepika Kumari will be up against Germany’s Michelle Kroppen in the quarter finals which will take place on Saturday.
