Lakshya Sen makes history

Lakshya Sen made history today as defeated a Chinese Taipei shuttler to become the first Indian shuttler to reach the semi-finals in the Men’s Singles badminton event at the Olympics. Another historical moment for India after Men’s Field Hockey team defeating Australia for the first time in 56 years at the Olympics.
The Chinese Taipei shuttler T. C. Chou took the lead by winning the first set 21-19. Sen got back in the game and quickly won the second set 21-15 winning by a huge point cushion. The game went on into the third and decisive round. Now both Sen and T. C. Chou had equal opportunities to win the game after proving themselves worthy opponents, the victory wasn’t easy to achieve. On the contrary in the third and final set, Lakshay’s incredible performance T. C. Chou failed to make a statement. Lakshay won the final and decisive set by even more points than the second one, 21-12 which meant T. C. Chou’s 2024 Paris Olympic journey coming to an end.
